Dresser Waukesha® to Supply Engines
For EuroAsiatic Projects in Southeast Asia
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Dresser Waukesha, a leading manufacturer of spark-ignited, gaseous-fueled engines, will supply engines for power generation projects designed and installed by EuroAsiatic, a Jakarta-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company. EuroAsiatic provides heat and power solutions and systems for both power generation and cogeneration applications.
EuroAsiatic is specifying a variety of Waukesha engine models including Dresser Waukesha’s new, one-megawatt, high-efficiency APG1000, and the two- and three-megawatt APG2000 and APG3000 units for upcoming projects. The projects, in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, are on-site power generation plants for manufacturing and production facilities serving the chemical, textile, food and beverage and consumer goods sectors.
“With its world class efficiency level and heavy-duty design, the APG1000 has an advantage over any competitor in this power range,” said Peter Fries, who is EuroAsiatic’s sales manager and administrator for the company’s engine business. “The APG2000/3000 units are also a very attractive offering because their transient load capability is the best in class; and we have factory projects where the engine must be able to absorb wide load swings that other gas engines cannot handle.”
EuroAsiatic has specified Dresser Waukesha engines as core products in its plant designs, which have been well-received because of Waukesha’s reputation for efficiency, high uptime and long-term reliability, Fries said. “There are many opportunities to use Dresser Waukesha gas engine generator sets in industrial applications where our customers see the benefits of decentralized power generation ? a degree of energy security, independence and sustainability.”
In addition, Fries pointed out, Dresser Waukesha APG units are particularly well-suited to cogeneration systems that use engine exhaust gas for heat, which further improves the efficiency of each unit. “Cogeneration systems are attractive because of the potential cost savings as well as the benefits of energy efficiency and adherence to environmental compliance standards,” he said.
“We are delighted to have established a relationship with EuroAsiatic,” said Lloyd Beauchamp,
vice president of sales for Dresser Waukesha. “They know their market and they have an excellent reputation. The people of EuroAsiatic are very effective in delivering value in their project engineering and design, and in the selection of equipment for their projects.

“This is an exciting, developing market that is poised to require a lot equipment to meet the growing need for energy,” Beauchamp said. “The region has ample gas supplies, but the demand for electricity has already outpaced the supply available from the grid, which creates an ideal situation for on-site power plants.”
