AMOS Maintenance is the world's leading maintenance management system for the marine industry: more than 7,000 ships are managed on a daily basis using AMOS Maintenance systems.

It combines planned maintenance with spare parts control and integrates fully with AMOS Purchase. Information is shared between ships and the office to allow on-board personnel to plan and manage maintenance and stores.

Keep you in control:

The systems can be used either separately or together, as an integrated management solution.

Information is shared between ships and land-based offices to allow on-board personnel to manage stores & purchase planning.

The system provides the reports and statistics essential to shipboard management and safety.

SpecTec welcomes a new AMOS customer: General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC) based in Tripoli, Libya. GNMTC is a state owned company founded in 1970 and engaged primarily in the ownership and operation of oil tankers, including crude, clean and dirty products and LPG, in addition to general cargo, Ro-Ro and passenger ships.Their customers include oil companies, petroleum product traders, agencies and various other entities. During their peak in the 1980's, GNMTC had owned/managed over 30 vessels. However, due to a declining trade, restrictions, embargo and ageing vessels, GNMTC sold off most of their vessels in the fleet. By 2004, GNMTC had initiated plans to establish a new fleet to reiterate their past successes.

Currently, GNMTC owns a total of 10 vessels registered under their name and subsidiaries with a total combined dwt of approximately 600,000 dwt, including aframax crude oil tankers, product tankers and LPG carriers. The whole fleet is commercially operated by their operation department and chartered by different clients. The Aframax and product tankers are trading worldwide while the LPG carriers are trading between domestic terminals.

GNMTC is planning to acquire several tankers of different types in the very near future to join their fast expanding fleet, including Aframax and Suezmax crude oil tankers and handy size product tankers, to name just a few. GNMTC has chosen the AMOS Business Suite to help realise their goals. GNMTC have recently contracted SpecTec to implement the AMOS software on 5 of their tankers. The AMOS Business Suite software has currently been installed in the GNMTC office and onboard the first two vessels; M/T Anwaar Libya and M/T Anwaar Afriqya. The remaining 3 vessels contracted will be delivered over 2008/2009 during phase 2 of the projects with GNMTC, which will also see the implementation of the AMOS2Quality system.
